Types of Culinary Oil

The term “culinary” means cooking. Therefore, culinary oil refers to cooking oil. There are many types of culinary oil that you can use to bake or cook any food to perfection. Some of these types include the following:

Sunflower Oil

As the name suggests, this type of oil is extracted from sunflower seeds. It is healthy for consumption, as well as cosmetic purposes- the oil is widely used as an emollient in cosmetics. It is also used for salad dressings, and it can serve the purpose of margarine.

Olive Oil

Coconut Oil

Obtained from a coconut kernel or meat, this oil is arguably one of healthiest cooking oils. Coconut oil is known for its ability to cure and prevent certain problems of the digestive system, including irritable bowel syndrome. The oil facilitates speedy recovery of damaged body tissues, making it perfect for wound or bruise healing.

Palm Oil

This type of oil is extracted from palm fruit pulps. Like olive oil, palm oil exists in various types. A classic example is red palm oil, which is known to be cholesterol-free, a property that makes it suitable for both normal and low-cholesterol diet plans. Palm oil is used for cooking, shortening, and flavouring purposes. The oil has the ability to counter the bloodstream free radicals thanks to its antioxidant properties. Plus, it has a rejuvenating effect on the skin; hence, it is used in cosmetic industry.
